Presidents Update:
Hi everyone, it's that time of year again. The chill is in the air and we are all getting pumped about the upcoming snowmobile season. We had a great meeting on Sept 9th. Many topics were covered. At the front of the discussion was the Swap Meet. It will be held on Saturday October 10th at Smileys from 9am to 2pm. I appreciate all the efforts everyone has put into this event so far. We could use your help on Saturday so if you can free yourself up for a few hours it would be greatly appreciated. Trish and I plan on being there at 7:30am to get things started. We will need help with the hot chocolate and cider sales, we will also have the 50/50 raffle for cash going on and could always use some runners for that. Of course we need some leaders to set up parking of the dis players and having the waivers signed and money collected. I hear the weather could be nasty so make sure you dress accordingly.
We had a swap meet signage get togther last Weds to update the current swap meet signs. You probably have seen them around town. The only snag so far is that the Buyers Guide listed the event as Sunday Oct 10th not Saturday. We can't win... We've gotten a few calls already asking the correct date. Glen, Sheryl, Trish and I did get to the Wausau Grass drags and put out a lot of flyers. Thank you for your help Glen and Sheryl.
Other items discussed at the Sept meeting included having attendance at the Village of Plover Meetings. I think it is important to have a presence at these meetings. I would like to discuss this further at our Oct 14th meeting. We also discussed in detail possibilities of keeping the trail open to Smiley's. The way it stands now, "with the help of Brian Fitzpatrick" it was determined insurance would cost the club $600.00 a year for 2 miles trail. This would be on top of the cost of grooming and signage. We will check into other possibilities but if we do pursue this we will have to come up with some great fund raising events to maintain our treasurey.
Sheryl had some great ideas for Plover SOS logoed clothing. I will have her share her ideas at the fall kick off.
Fall Kickoff Weds 10-14-09
We will be having our Fall Kickoff at Smiley's on Weds Oct. 14th. The club will be supplying 2 drink tickets per person and pizza. Please bring a dessert or snack to pass. Let's make this a great event. I'll try to keep the meeting time to a minimal. :o) Let's start out the snowmobile season with bang.
Thank You
I would like to thank everyone for the cards and emails we received with the loss of Trish's Father. You truly are like a family to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtfulness.
