United We Trail – Divided We
Fail
September 4, 2007
Next Regular
Membership Meeting is Wednesday September 12, 2007 7:00
PM @ Smiley’s.
Sure
doesn’t seem like
it
has been 3 months since our last snowmobiling meeting.
Where did the summer go?
Hope everyone had a very enjoyable summer.
Time to start thinking snow!!
Upcoming snowmobile events include the Wausau Grass Drags, the
Plover Spuds on Snow Swap Meet and the Central Wisconsin Snow Show
& Swap Meet including the Vintage Snowmobile Show.
Special thanks to Rob Sparhawk in getting
the Vintage Show organized. He has put
many hours into the project since the beginning of the
year.
2007
Summer Campout
The Plover Spuds on Snow had our annual campout at Vista Royale
Campground in Bancroft.
Campers/attendees included:
Tom,
Trish, and Abby, Dave & Julie, Pete & Gina, Matt & Teri,
and Brian
& Diane.
Some of the ladies went to
a “Tastefully Simple” demonstration while Gina did paperwork for work.
That is dedication.
Dining was at its best.
Thanks to
Pete for bringing steaks from up
north and for everyone who brought a dish to pass.
Plans are already in the works for the campout in 2008.
More details will be available later on in
the year.
If you enjoy camping or just
want to spend some time with PSOS members, we would enjoy your company.
Planned
Activities
We need
a good turnout at both the September and
October meetings as there are several topics on the agenda to discuss. These include: the
Plover Spuds on Snow Swap Meet at Smiley’s, the Swap Meet and
Vintage Snowmobile Show at the Central Wisconsin Snow Show, and club
ride in
2008.
Treasurer
Position Opening
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gina Taylor
for her years of service as the PSOS Treasurer and as an active club
member.
Gina has chosen to accept a
position in Rhinelander and will be moving from the area soon.
For those of us who have known Gina, she
will be missed.
She has already renewed
her membership and plans on attending some of our functions.
Unfortunately that means we have an immediate
opening for
the office of Treasurer.
For our club
to continue to grow, we need someone to volunteer for this position.
The bylaws
read “It shall be the duty of the treasurer to collect and receive all
monies
due to the club.
Keeping a record and
being accountable for same.
The
Treasurer shall pay all the bills, only on approval by the President or
one
member of the Board of Directors.
The
Treasurer shall render a report of the affairs of this office at each
meeting
upon call of the President”.
Gina has
volunteered to help the new Treasurer get started.
Membership
We need to retain all existing members and grow with the
addition of new members.
Our October 10
th
meeting will be our Fall Kick-Off Meeting.
Details will be in the October Newsletter.
Start
thinking about potential new members.
