United We Trail – Divided We Fail

March 7, 2007
Next Regular Membership Meeting is Wednesday March 14, 2007. Smiley’s.
Elections
Nominations for 2007-2008 officers were conducted at the last meeting.  All previous officers:  Leanne Lundquist / Secretary, Gina Taylor / Treasurer, Rick Rossier / Vice-President, and Brian Fitzpatrick / President have been nominated and accepted the nomination for their respective office.  In addition John Herek has been nominated for a Director’s position.  We will again be accepting additional nominations at the March 14th meeting.
By-Laws Change
Article IV Officers Sec.1 currently reads, “The officers of the club shall be President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Board of Directors.  The Board of Directors shall consist of three (3) members.  The Board of Directors shall be elected initially by popular vote.  Initially, one (1) Board member will serve three (3) years, one (1) will serve two (2) years and one (1) will serve one (1) year.  They will be replaced for one (1) year terms thereafter”.
We want to change the last sentence to read “They will be replaces for three (3) year terms thereafter.

Club Trip

Our Club Trip was held February 16-18, 2007 at the “The Birches” on Boot Lake in Springstead, WI.  Snow conditions in the area made it good enough to run.  A little more snow would have been a plus.  Club members at the outing included:  Gina & Pete, Leanne & Jeff, Tom & Trish, Dave & Julie, Eric & Sally, Laura & Craig, and Diane & Brian.  We rode Friday night and did about 60 miles.  As a group, we met for pizza at the Birches.  On Saturday we rode as a group and did about 55 miles.  Part of the group went back out and did another 50 miles.  AS a group we dined at the Frontier, and dined on pizza at the Birches.  Carey Larson and his family joined us late Saturday night.

It was good to get out as a group.  Especially considering the lack of snow we have been dealing with for most of the winter.  Special thanks to Gina for doing the organizing part of this event.

Local Weather and Trails

Hopefully most of our club members have had the rare opprotunity to ride the trails locally.  Thanks to all the surrounding local clubs for the efforts in grooming the trails.  Diane & I did see a groomer that had left Smiley’s heading south toward Almond. This weekend is expected to be warm and next week is even warmer.
