March 5, 2009
Next Membership Meeting is March 11, 2009
Elections
We will continue to accept
officer nominations for Plover Spuds on Snow at the March
meeting. The offices to be filled include President,
Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and
a 3 Year Director. Dave Kreutzer has been a director for 3
years. John is currently in his 2nd
year, and Eric is in his first year.
Current Officers are:
President Brian Fitzpatrick
Vice President Rick Rossier
Treasurer Deb Berkholtz
Secretary Trish Bey
Director - 1 Dave Kreutzer
Director – 2 John Herek
Director – 3 Eric Liazuk
The
good news is that Rick, Deb, and Trish all have graciously accepted the
nomination to continue as VP, Treasurer, and Secretary respectively. In addition Mark Paul has accepted the
nomination as a 3 year director. That
would make John Herek in his final year as director, and Eric Liazuk in his 2nd
year.
Unfortunately
as previous discussed, I have opted not to continue as President. I had been VP
for 3 years and President for 4 years.
My workload at my employer has increased due to staff reductions. I will continue to support Spuds activities,
but we need a member to step forward and accept the responsibilities as
President.
The
election of officers, ending a President nominee, will be held at the regular
meeting in March. Newly elected
officers will be installed at the April meeting.
Audit
The
Board of Directors shall act as an auditing committee and shall audit the
financial books of the treasurer and report the results of such audit at the
next regular membership meeting prior to the election of officers. This was discussed at the February meeting. Hopefully we have made some progress on this. Per our by-laws, this should be completed
before the installation of officers. We
can discuss the progress at the March meeting.
Alliance of Portage
County Snowmobile Clubs
The AWSC is coordinating the
development of a statewide Snow Emergency Response Team or network. Each club is asked to provide one or two
names with phone numbers to act as contacts in the event of a snow
emergency. Rick Rossier and Brian Fitzpatrick
have volunteered on behalf of the Spuds to act as contacts in the event of a
snow emergency
AWSC Legislative Day
Thursday March 26th
will be the Snowmobile Day at the Capitol.
There will be free buses going to Madison that day. The AWSC wants a strong showing to let
legislators see the solidarity of the organization.
