Why Belong To A Snowmobile Club

Snowmobiling in Wisconsin is wonderful! In Portage county we have almost 300 miles of trails. These trails are made possible though the volunteer efforts of snowmobilers who have organized into clubs to establish and maintain portions of the Wisconsin trail system. The Plover Spuds on Snow are unique, as we do not have any trails to maintain. This was primarily because 1) for years Plover never had a snowmobile club, and 2) the trails that run through Plover are already being maintained by neighboring clubs. However it is still necessary for Plover to have a snowmobile club. Of primary concern is insuring we can ride the village roads to the trails. Equally important is the concerns of local businesses that benefit from snowmobilers. Without the clubs, there would be no trails. The Plover Spuds on Snow also have fun. We meet monthly to discuss snowmobile concerns, and to socialize after the meeting. This past summer we had two golf outings for our members. Snow permitting, we also have club rides. This past year we sponsored a snowmobile swap meet for local snowmobile enthusiasts looking to sell or buy something. We go camping together. We meet for dinner. We have a Christmas party. A snowmobile club has something for everyone. By belonging to a snowmobile club, you are helping to keep the sport as strong as it is by providing good trail, and you are having fun by being with people who enjoy and understand the fun and fellowship of snowmobiling. |
