Race summary for 3-1-08 (Season Final)

What a season end our weather could have not been better as we saw temperatures of 30 to 35 degrees. Our hosts Dennis, Doris Moon & family (Anchor Bay) prepared a excellent race set up with food, refreshments, bleachers right out on the ice. We had another excellent crowd along with the Biron Fire Department First Responders watching over for everyone’s safety. This was just another thing that Dennis Moon has done for this club. We all have to thank Dennis, Doris & their family for donating approximately $250.00 To our club. I believe this is the biggest donation we ever received again hats off to them.  

We had a total of 22 different racers through out all the classes and we had some more first time winners through the day. In the pure stock heat we saw Shane Treba win for the first time along with Adam Weiss  wining the pure stock feature. It was sure nice to see the smile on these kid’s faces. In the men’s Mod stock we saw Mr. Chevrolet Dust Clark win the heat and also the Mod Stock Feature. These were Dusty’s first wins this year in a class that has been dominated by Cody (The Kid) Knutson. The men’s open mod saw a spectacular wreck at the start finish line last lap of our heat race. Rapid Rick Cisewski and Big Roche Rossier got into each other coming for the finish that sent big Roche Tipping into the snow banks. Luckily no one was hurt but sure the 48-year-old Roche feels a little pain today. We had an excellent points battle in the Men’s Open Mod between Racin Jason and Jake the Snake Simkowski. Jason took the early lead in the race and had about a straight away lead on the Snake before he got out of the pack. Once clear of the Pack the Snake had about 6 laps to run Jason down and  passed him on the white flag lap to take the championship in Open Mod. I must say that all the spectators got to see some excellent races today and through out our series.  

Just a reminder to all racers, pit crew members, sponsors, and everyone else involved with our series that our awards and sponsor appreciation party is on March 22^nd, 7PM, at Club 10 in Stevens Point. Please try and call me with a number of folks that you expect to attend from each of your crews please. Also we will probably start meeting October of 08 for the 09 season. As we move forward we are thinking of starting a 120 mini sled stock series to our program. Everyone watch our web site for news, as big Rick will be adding pictures and updates as he has time.
